Magazines
« on: January 22, 2008, 01:12:27 PM »
Hi all,
I hope it's ok for me to post this here, I'm moving house and have to dispose of a lot of stuff.
To get to the point I've unearthed a lot of Atari magazines from my distant past as well as an 800 and a ST, disk drives etc and mountains of games. Anyway, the magazines are:-

Page 6/Atari user issues 2 to 47 inclusive (some even have page 6 order forms inside, so you might get a bargain!)
Analog Computing issues 23-45 inclusive
Atari I/O issuse 2, 3, 4, 5.
UK Atari Computer Owners Club issues 1 to 8 inc. (issue 1 is a newsletter, issue 8 called Monitor)
Atari User (database publications) Vol 1, No's 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 12 (1985-86)
Atari ST User vol 4, No. 11 (Jan 90) (exclusive full story of the Atari TT)
ANTIC (the Atari resource) Vol 2, No.3 (June 83)
ST Format Issue 19 (Feb 91)
ST Action Issue 30 (Oct 90)
The One (ST, Amiga, PC) issue 14 (Nov 89)
ST AMIGA FORMAT issue 7 (Jan 89)
Books :-
Your Second Manual to The Atari ST (Andreas Ramos)
Master Memory Map for 400/800 computers (1981 by S.c.e.s.)
Compute's First Book Of Atari
The Atari Assembler
Revised Pokey Player (Craig Chamberlain)
And probably more to be unearthed!

I do hope I haven't caused offence by posting this, I need to test all the hardware yet and maybe ebay would be the right medium to put that on. But any interest would be gratefully received as I have to make room.
If I've broken any forum rules, please be gentle! Perhaps a moderator can advise?

Hi

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

It's absolutely fine to post the details of your mags etc here and I hope you have success in finding a new careful owner!

It is probably worth putting some of the less common items on eBay as you would probably get a reasonable price ... for example, the UKACOC mags don't come up all that often and the I/O mags are fairly rare too.

Regarding the Page 6 / New Atari User mags you mentioned, we are currently looking for some of the loose inserts (XL/XE and ST Library Updates, and Corresponding order forms) to scan for preservation purposes and if you can help with any of the missing ones then that would be good.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
thanks for the welcome and the prompt reply. I'll take your advice and try ebay.
Can you let me know what number inserts you are missing? I know my issue 47 has them in, but I haven't checked the other 45. If I can be of assistance with any I'll certainly scan them and email them to you.

Regards,
terry

Many thanks, the leaflets we're particularly looking for are the following Accessory Shop or XL/XE Library Updates -

10, 11, 13, 15, 26, 43-51, 53-55

Also any of the following ST Library Updates:

26, 32, 34-53, 55 onwards

and the printed ST Library Catalog

Rgds
Paul

Hi again Paul,
Well, I've got inserts still in No.s 36 - 45 so if you can let me know what resolution and if it's b&w I can scan them for you, I need to know where to send them too :P

Oh, I've found another book too that I think was very rare in it's day, I seem to recall ordering it and having to wait quite a while for it to arrive (expensive too!).
It's called De Re Atari (A guide to effective programming for the Atari 400/800)

Hi Paul, I got your private message thanks.
I'm sorry it's took so long to get back to you, I've been away for a while.
it seems nobody wants the magazines so I'll just send you the inserts and you can do with them as you wish. I don't know if you keep originals, but they are of no use to me so you may as well keep them.
Regards,
terry
